Our sweet baby girl is 2 weeks old. We've already learned so much about her wants and needs and it has been neat to see her grow and develop in such a short amount of time.
She is such a strong, active little babe and absolutely loves snuggles with her daddy.
While her personality hasn't shown through quite yet, it's fun getting small glimpses.
She...
-Doesn't like to be swaddled
-Loves tummy time/sleeping on someone's chest
-Coos and grunts in response when you talk or sing to her
-Always has her hands up by her face
-Sleeps and eats about every 3-4 hours
-Stands or stretches out when she gets worked up
-Can pick her head up and turn it to the other side without support
-Studies your face when she's alert, though, I'm sure things are still fairly blurry
We're still trying to determine what her eye color will be. They are becoming a bluish-grey but some days look more hazel or green like her mama. Only time will tell. It has been fun seeing her become more and more alert with each week that passes.
She is finally starting to fit into her newborn clothing! She was born weighing 6lb6oz,19 inches long and is now 6lb12oz, 21 inches long. It's amazing how quickly they grow and change. And she is looking very different now than even last week. I'm sure this will only be amplified as she continues to fill out with that cute baby fat. Grow baby, grow!

I am starting to get the hang of night feedings. She's in the groove of eating on an 8,12,4 schedule (give or take an hour). This not only allows for greater stretches of time for mommy and daddy to rest but the ability to exercise a "bedtime routine." Even if it takes a full year to establish at least mom and dad will have it down pat. ;)
We are absolutely loving being parents and its pretty amazing how natural some things come. That's not to say we haven't had to work really hard some days, it really is like having another job. But for now, we're trying to soak up the longer stretches of rest, goofy smiles, and slobbery kisses.
She is just so sweet and I LOVE being a mommy. Too bad she won't stay this little for long...
she is so sweet! love her so much, and you are both such great parents ;)
