Adventures in potty training [update]

We've got a ritual down.

If Annalise successfully goes potty she puts a sticker on her potty calendar.
Then, she politely asks for a "tootsie." Blue raspberry to be exact.

Here I thought Mother's Day was a total fluke. Little did I know what I'd be in for over the next month.
We've even successfully used the potty in public- a dozen times at her aunt and uncle's graduation party, Walmart, a rest stop, Casa Margaritas, Nana and Papa's, Grammy and Papa Tom's, and Uncle Ben's too.

While we still have 'off' days or accidents when our tummy is upset, I'm pretty darn proud of this little girl.

Whenever we get ready to lay down for a nap or get up for the day we sit on the potty.
An hour or two after we eat a meal we try going potty.
After we've played hard outside we try going potty.
If mommy goes potty, Annalise tries too.

And, if I ask her and she says "no," I don't force it. I'll just ask again later.

Above all else, even if she forewarns me and it's too late by the time we get there I praise her for letting me know. Positive reinforcement seems to have been the true key to our potty successes, not tootsies. ;)

Plus, she's pretty proud of that calendar and makes sure to chatter about it whenever we have visitors.

Keep it up sweet girl, you're doing so good!
