Lots To Do..

Well...it's been a great weekend.  My dad came to visit, watching me place 2nd and 3rd in diving against Luther College.  We ate pizza and watched TV, preferring not to step out into the cold weather headed toward Iowa.  This morning, Jason took me on a little brunch date to A&M, then finished his smoker.  In between, some much needed snuggles took place while watching one too many episodes of Man V. Food. :)  For those who don't know, I'm pretty much addicted to the Food Network Channel.  I kind of watch it religiously.  Here are a few pictures of Jason's masterpiece:

As you can see from the picture, it's about 4 ft tall.  In fact, he's smoking chicken legs and salmon as we speak.  Using old oven grates, a few soup cans, and some plywood Jason created his own smoker box.  Isn't he crafty? :)

In addition to the smoker box success, dad finally signed off on the contract for our venue a few days ago.  Now we've got the photographer, reception and ceremony venues, a possible DJ, and various decorations courtesy of Jennifer Baumgartner, Jason's older sister.  Here are some pictures of the venue (taken last month):

Simba also decided that he wanted to help "mommy" go through Jenn's wedding decor...

   Isn't he cute...I guess he decided pink was his color.  

As the weather gets colder, Mom and I are keeping an eye out for fall/summer things on sale.  Some of the more important things are out of the way, but we'll continue to push through this school year and check things off as deadlines come to a close.  Were hoping to stop by a few bridal and tux boutiques over Thanksgiving to figure out which style dress looks best on me and what style of tux we want the boys to wear.  Who knows, maybe I'll have a dress in mind by Christmas!

In the meantime...I need to finish my internship resume and eat some smoked salmon!!!
