A Beautiful Beginning...

Hey all!  This is officially my first blog post ever!! :)  I've had various requests to start one, due to my recent engagement and just a general update what's new in life, so I guess here goes...

For those of you who aren't aware, I got engaged on October 21st, 2010 during fall break.  My fiancée Jason and I were visiting his best friend, Dan and had planned a day's worth of hiking in the Smokey Mountains.  Upon arriving I was stunned at the rather surreal setting.  Naturally, because it was late October the leaves were beginning to fall in a frenzy around us.  It was as if we were trapped in a snow globe of falling leaves instead of snowflakes.  Needless to say, GORGEOUS!!  As we began to hike the mountainside, I captured a few pics of the trip we were about to embark on...

There were many beautiful waterfalls along the way...

But finally we reached our destination, Grotto Falls where Jason wanted to pose for a picture....

Little did I know...he had other intentions...

And of course I said yes, sealing it with a kiss...

Shortly after we enjoyed a celebratory toast with a crowd perched on a rock nearby watching the entire thing.  Elated and shocked we enjoyed the view as we began our decent, immediately bombarded with questions from Dan on dates, tuxes, times, etc.  Of course I ignored him trying to both process what had just happened and snapping a few more pics to savor the moment.....

It'll definitely be a memory both imprinted in my mind and in my heart forever...
