Baby Taps {Coolest feeling ever!}

Baby, fetus at 13 weeks - BabyCenter

Hello 2nd Trimester!

The first one sure flew by. I'm sure this next will also as we'll be busy with graduations, park visits, and other fun summer activities.

Today we're 13 weeks (13w4d if you go by our u/s last week). Hard to believe how fast this little babe has grown already. The size of a peach from head to butt and probably much longer if you include his/her legs.

Take a look at your cell phone. Yep. That big! (well, roughly)

I'm feeling much, much better than I did earlier last week now that the stomach bug has finally passed and I'm regaining some energy. Hope this energy continues to build as I'd like to enjoy the 50 and 60 degree temperatures we've been hitting this past weekend.

In other exciting news, I finally felt the baby move this morning! I felt some fluttering as I moved the doppler wand over my lower stomach trying to find baby's heartbeat. Every time I moved the wand and picked up the heartbeat I'd feel a flutter and pressure and the heartbeat would disappear. Little stinker was rolling away!  Finally after much amusement I found it ticking away at 152-157.
Slightly slower than Annalise's 162 when she was 14 weeks.

So far everything has been going well. The fatigue is starting to let up this week. No more nausea spells and no more headaches. I am starving all.the.time. In fact, even with second helpings this weekend I'm only up 3.6lbs from pre-pregnancy. I know that won't last long but I've been surprised with how gradual my weight gain has been since I haven't been sick and appetite-less like I was with Annalise.

Next up, an appointment on the 22nd and scheduling our anatomy ultrasound.

In the meantime, baby is growing lanugo hair all over it's body, creating tiny fingerprints, and practicing swallowing, crying, and making faces. I'm looking forward to feeling him or her more and looking more pregnant and less chubby.

Until next time...
