For those soon-to-be mama's or first-timers here are a few of the things that my baby girl favors and some we couldn't live without.
- Boudreux's Butt Paste- Creamy, easy to clean off paste to help with diaper rash.
- Glowworm- Annalise loves this at bed time. It lights up and plays 5 different lullabies. We turn it on just before lying her down and it shuts off 10 minutes later when she's fast asleep.
- Dreft Laundry Stain Remover- A life saver for those blow outs that you least expect. ;)
- Owl Taggie Rattle- Annalise's new favorite toy. Its bright colors and varying textures have kept her entertained for hours.
- Munchkin Bottle Warmer- A true middle-of-the-night feeding savior. Unlike the microwave or a bowl of warm water it steams the bottle to warm it up. In less than 2 minutes too! And when you've got a screaming baby ready to eat, believe me, you don't want to wait longer than that...
- Fisher Price SnugaMonkey Swing- A parent's 'babysitter' while they take a shower or get some chores done. It rotates 3 directions, has 5 songs, and 5-6 speed settings. It'll keep them entertained indefinitely-or put them to sleep..
- BundleMe by JJ Cole- This has truly been a blessing this winter. It serves as a blanket and a careseat cover that zips up; so it won't blow away in those wintery storms while you're traveling.
- Bag Sack Jammies- These have by far been both my husband and I's favorite pajamas. They work wonderfully for those middle of the night feedings and especially for those babes that like to kick the covers off. It's like a mini snuggie for babies! lol
- Johnsons Bedtime Lotion- A lavender scented lotion to help calm restless babies. We use this often..
- Luvs Diapers- Our favorite diapers. They don't have the fancy "wet indicator strip" like the Pampers but they seem to have the best coverage and they're pretty cheap too ($6.99).
- Avent Natural Bottles (medium flow)- Annalise's new favorite bottles. We started with Medela slow flow bottles but she was getting frustrated because it wasn't coming fast enough. These 'natural' flow bottles/nipples are supposed to simulate the flow of being breastfed and she seems to have no trouble going between the two.
- Safety 1st Nail Clippers- We use these ALL.THE.TIME. This girls nails seem to grow overnight and when she's breastfeeding it feel like razors slicing up my chest. Ouch!
- Munchkin Bottle Brush- With both hard and soft bristles it has cleaned milk residue of in a breeze.
- Parent's Choice Baby Wipes- The wettest wipes we've used, and because of that, the easiest to get stuck on messes off. You only have to use 1-2 wipes as opposed to 4+ for those icky blow outs.
- Boppy pillow- This has served many purposes. I have laid her on it while nursing, propped her up to play and have now graduated to using it for some tummy time on the floor. She loves it and you can purchase a variety of fun and colorful covers for it.
- Repeat--OOPS.
- Fisher Price Cd Player- Features songs about colors, numbers, shapes, the alphabet, and three nursery rhymes. Annalise loves looking at the lights while it sings. Thanks Nana & Papa!
- MAM pacifiers- We don't go anywhere without these. I never thought my child would be a pacifier kid but she loves it. We're trying to restrict it to naps and bedtime but oftentimes she'll get it when she's fussy too. It is her favorite because the nipple is shorter and it contours to her face better than the Nuks.
- Fleurville Carrier- A lifesaver when it comes to doing housework. When she doesn't want to be put down I'll just strap her in and go about doing the dishes or vacuuming the house. It'll come in handy when we want to walk around the mall or fair this summer too. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!
- Fisher Price Ocean Wonder Playmat- She absolutely adores this play mat. It has a beachball on one end and two rattle-like toys on the opposing end. I often find her batting at and talking to the green seahorse. Once she gets a bit older it can be transformed into a tunnel for her to crawl through. One of those 'grow-with-me' toys which is great! Thanks Linda!
- PBnJBaby Paci Holder- An easy clip-on paci holder than we've begun using more. It'll be convenient when her hand-eye coordination becomes better and we're traveling in the car. We won't have to stop to give her, her paci; she'll be able to find it herself.
- Target Owl Blanket- One of her favorite blankets to snuggle up with for nap time or bed time.
- Safety 1st Night Lights- These are great for middle of the night feedings or checking on her without turning bright overhead lights on.
- 'Udder Cover' in Purple- This is handy a cover for breastfeeding mothers when they're out in public or at a friend's house. They come in a variety of colors and styles too. Annalise would prefer not to have the cover we do use it occasionally.
- First Years 5-in-1 Bassinet- The item we used the most up until she was nearly 2 months old. It worked wonderfully in the beginning when she was little and nursing often; I would just roll over pick her up, nurse her, then lie her back down. It has music and vibration features as well.
- Bright Starts Playmat- Yes, she has two playmats. She adores this one just as much as the ocean themed one. This one plays 4-5 songs when the bird is pulled and the toys that hang from it are adjustable too.
- Graco Travel System in 'Forecaster'- The most convenient car seat combo for parent's on-the-go. The carseat snaps into a stationary base and the stroller with just one click and is easily removable with only a push of a button. This was especially handy when we were traveling for the holidays this winter.
Well, I hope some of these products become your favorites too! Every baby is different and it's amazing how many products are out there. It's all about trial and error. Happy hunting!
Great list! A lot of these have been lifesavers for us too.
ReplyDeleteRandom question: How did you make your picture collages?
I used a site called "Pickmonkey.com" From there you can create collaged pictures of all different sizes. Good luck! :)
