GIRL, GIRL, GIRL!!!! :D
Annalise Marie O'Polka had no problem showing us the goods several times throughout our elective ultrasound at 20 weeks.
We are now 22 weeks. Typically gender can be determined as early as 15/16 weeks but is more defined between 18-20 weeks. Thus, the likelihood of our babe not being a girl is slim. Though this week we'll be having another ultrasound to look more in depth at her anatomy (i.e. bones, organs, heart, etc.) and be able to have another glance at her lady bits to confirm gender.
Here is what she's up to this week:
-She's approx. 11-12 inches long.
-She weighs a little over a pound!
-Her eyes are no longer fused shut and she can begin blinking.
-Her skin is wrinkly but will soften as fat continues to form and fill her little body out.
-Her lips are becoming more defined.
-She is working on her physical dexterity (i.e. sensory perception, etc.).
And Mom?
-My uterus is just above my belly button.
-Lower back pain has become more persistent as my belly continues to grow.
-Occasional sciatic nerve pain.
-Breast enlargement and changes.
-Increased appetite. Baby girl loves veggies and fruits :)
Overall, baby girl and I are doing great. Occasional aches and pains from the growing tummy but she's growing great! Luckily, we'll get another sneak peek at her growth later this week :). Hopefully the last sneak peek we'll need until she's born. Just a mere 18 weeks from now!

Gender reveal party photos to come soon!
Until then...
Pregnancy Health Tip of the Week:
Now that baby is bigger it is important not to sleep or lie on your back for very long. Baby can press on the Vegas nerve and other important blood vessels which may not only cut off blood to him/her but also you. Try lying on either one of your sides or prop your back up with a pillow. Experiment various positions until you find one you like. :)
Happy Sunday all!
