I'm Baaacckkk!

Hi all! Sorry I was dormant for so long. The hubby and I have been through a lot in the past 6 months! Between the honeymoon, getting a new job, and moving I just haven't gotten a sleeping pattern or social pattern (for that matter) figured out yet. And, unfortunately I lost my old camera with all the honeymoon pictures on it sooo....:( I can't share those with you. But! I've got a sweet new camera that I'll hope to be using here in the near future to post some pictures of our new place with all my "Hannah touches"--as my sister-in-law puts it.

So here's my version of a quick and dirty update. Shortly after the wedding, Jason and I took off to Chicago for our "mini-moon" vacation at Key Lime Cove resort and water park. We spent one day at the Six Flags theme park and one day at the attached water park in Gurnee, IL. The rest of the time we spent lounging in our King size bed watching useless TVs shows and at the Crazy Toucan restaurant where I became rather fond of Pina Coladas and salmon. YUM! Here are a few Google pictures of the things we got to experience at Key Lime cove:

The indoor water park hosted slides that went outside the building and back in!

Jason and I tried to go here everyday to take advantage of the hot tub and lazy river :). And yes, that's a tidal wave pool--this place was huge!

An aerial view of how large this place was! A van met us out front every morning to transport us to the Six Flags theme park.

The hallways sported cute boutiques and candy/fudge shops. You almost felt like you were in the tropics or Jamaica (Okay, so maybe no Jamaica but a girl can dream right?!). P.s. For those that don't know..that's where Jason and I wanted to go for our honeymoon.

And this is the Crazy Toucan restaurant we frequented during our stay. Doesn't it just look neat?!

Anyway, after arriving back to Grinnell, Jason and I discussed (I told him) we were moving! By the 1st of November we moved to a wonderful house on Reed Street that we'll be renting for at least a year. Though, I sensed a little apprehension from my husband I knew this move would be the best thing for us. And now, having lived here for a couple months I'm SO glad we jumped when we did. The past three years have been quite a journey for a little family and now were finally starting to get ahead and stay ahead. Come this tax return we'll have several things paid off with only a few of my school loans to go. We've gone from sleeping on a mattress on the floor to a gorgeous bedroom set with Egyptian sheets, a kitchen without a working oven to one that cleans itself (I've been a baking queen), a portion of a house to a 2-3 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms and a finished basement, and numerous financial crisis's to saving our first thousands. Pretty darn good if I do say so myself :).

So, that's my update in a nutshell..well, couple pages I guess. I'm hoping to have pictures of the new place up soon. That is, as soon as I get it cleaned and a few more pictures hung ;). Happy February everyone!!
