Winter Break Fun

Happy Early Christmas everyone! Only about a week to go....got your shopping done?----that's what I thought..;)

Well, Thursday brought not only 4-8+ inches of snow but winter/Christmas break too! WOO!  I am officially half-way done with senior year, and it's left me feeling both joy and fear.  Joy because that means graduation and the wedding are fastly approaching but fear because I don't want to be searching for job's well into summer.  I guess we'll just have to wait to see what opportunities present themselves.

On another note, a lot has happened since the last post.

First and foremost, I got the tree up!!  We inherited this 4-4.5' tall tree from Jenn and Bud (Arthur) Baumgartner about a year ago.  Initially my soon to be hubby and I decorated it with simple blue balls and silver ice cycles.  But, this year, we decided to put more personal touches on the tree and start our own family tradition.  Jason put up some of the marshmallow men his sister has given to him over the past few years.  And I added some of Jason's first Christmas ornaments as a child.  I'm hoping I can add some of my own soon too! Here's what it looks like:

And here's Jason's favorite ornament for obvious reasons....

Then, Jason and I discovered a stray furry little friend that was in need of some serious lovin'.  She had been wandering around the neighborhood, skin and bones for several months before we finally decided to see how she would act around the boys.  Initially she was quite skittish, you could tell she'd never been indoors.  Now, she's the queen of the house and we've appropriately named her Nala.  Figured we'd stick with the Lion King theme.  Here's our new addition to the family:

Isn't she pretty?  She's whats called a "Tortoise Shell Cat"
But...lemme tell you what, the boy's weren't very happy with "mommy" and "daddy" after this adoption...

And I swear Simba weighs at least, 15-20lbs now....he's excited for the holiday food too....

So a couple other big things happened this week as well.  First, Jason and I celebrated Christmas Christmas early and got a family phone plan at US cellular.  Here's what they look like:

They're what's called the Samsung freeform...pretty cool huh?! Merry Christmas to us! :D

Then to top it all off, Jason got his first big buck!

Jason and a co-worker of his, Glen Vogt, have been out all weekend and finally got one worth celebrating over.  Glen's little boy, Tanner, was so cute trying to help daddy and Jason.  Can you see his little carharts and camo boots.  Ahhhhh, someday my little boy will be decked out in the same gear.  He was so inquisitive, asking tons of questions about the deer and what they were doing.  SO CUTE!

Look at his little dimples :)

However, what would have been a 17-pointer, could only count as 14 because a couple of the tines were less than an inch.  But I think he'll settle for 14 ;)....the amount of meat they processed was ridiculous.  Looks like we've got our winter supply of food!

So proud of you baby :)

Next on the list is finishing my Christmas shopping, baking holiday treats and spending some quality time with family (miss and love you all!).

Travel safe everyone and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Love love love,
Hannah, Jason, Simba, Timone & Nala
