-Who takes 'too' many pictures of my kid. ;)
-Who wipes her paci on my pant leg when dropped on the floor.
-Who believes 'a little dirt won't hurt.'
-Who has let their child sleep on their stomach from 8 weeks on.
-Who lays their child down for bedtime awake.
-Who encourages people to hold her even if she is having a meltdown (they have to learn too).
-Who is a firm believer in 'crying it out.' (to a point...but not at 3 months..)
-Who will fancy myself a glass of wine, even while nursing, once in a while.
-Who took my child to a craft show, in the middle of winter, at 2-3 weeks old.
-Who gave her a bath before her umbilical cord was completely healed. (I just couldn't resist).
-Who has slipped a sugary chocolate finger in her mouth to see her facial expression.
-Who has watered down my breast milk when there just wasn't quite enough.
-Who shrugs my shoulders when older kids wallop her on the head..it'll make her tougher..right?!
-Who has oddly gotten used to 4-6 hrs of sleep on a regular basis.
-Who doesn't mind night feedings.
-Who asks everyone for advice regardless of their age or background.
-Who tries to openly accept that advice but realizes every child is different.
-Who has given up on trying to understand my child's current 'routine.'
-Who has had to put her down occasionally and walk away to collect myself without getting frustrated.
-Who doesn't understand why she won't nurse on the right side sometimes.
-Who lays next to her the entire time she's awake to play and interact.
-Who hurriedly cleans the house while she's down for a nap...that's my only time to!
-Who admittedly has NEVER taken a nap while she's napped. (Who does that?)
-Who suctions my kids nose and ears regularly. We will NOT have a sick baby!
(Though I know it's inevitable someday)
-Who is constantly thinking about 'what's next' instead of 'whats right now.'
-Who cannot wait until she can talk.
-Who shouldn't wish away the 'little stage' but also anticipates the 'fun stage.'
-Who is determined and already planning how I will potty train her.
-Who will feed her homemade baby food from our garden.
-Who will enforce naptime regardless of where we are.
-Who is a strong believer that a full, rested baby is a happy baby.
-Who might never use formula.
-Who will never catch up on sleep.
-Who loves researching what other Mom's do about certain things.
-Who loves sharing stories and pictures of funny, gross moments.
-Who records those moments on her blog or Facebook because those moments will be gone or forgotten someday. Plus, they're fun to share.
-Who rarely remembers what it's like to be pregnant.
(This happened?)
-Who wishes I did a belly cast.
-Who Pinterests kids crafting ideas...I can't wait to teach her how to color.
-Who will teach her how to swim-every stroke.
-Who hopes to give her a brother someday.
-Who can't wait to hear her giggle.
-Who loves seeing her smile in the morning (that's when she's happiest).
-Who laughs when I hear her and her father snore.
-Who would be lost without her Dad's help sometimes.
Who is writing this blog because I don't want to forget all the crazy, silly, gross, off-the-wall unneurotic things that I do as a new mom. Because I don't want to forget how I started and where I'll end up. Because I know it definitely won't be the same with my second or third child. Because I love this experience and never want to forget that I'm That Mom who blogged about it. Who loves being a mommy even if it means I'm not perfect some days and that I'll never do it 'by the book.' Who has learned that parenting doesn't have a manual and it comes by trial and error.
