Well I hope this little girl is a bargain shopper like her mommy when she grows up...
I've gotten some fantastic steals while garage saling and browsing craigslist this summer! Here are a few of my "picks:"
The bassinet was purchased in Iowa City, IA from a wonderful gal who used it for a short while with her first. Originally listed for $149+ I got it for a mere $40. It has the capability to be a portable sleeper, bassinet, bedside sleeper, play seat, and changing table all in one! I think we'll get some great use of it.
I also purchased the Pottery Barn Kids Penelope Crib Bedding set from a lady in North Liberty, IA. Originally priced at $177+ and I only got it for $40! Another great steal and I just love the way pink and green look together. :) The lady even threw in these great prints to mat and decorate the walls with! Another bonus because we cannot paint (we're renting). Here is the web address to see the whole bedding set and other matching items to go with it :)
A few of my garage sale purchases I've been dying to post. Aren't they just so cute :). I love little ruffle buns and head bands.
Another garage sale purchase. A Cozy car seat cover in light pink to cover baby up during the winter months. Which, will be great since Annalise will be born just prior.
Lastly, I couldn't help but post a teaser of our crib that came in the mail today! :) Okay...so its just the wood but isn't this Cherry Espresso color just gorgeous!
Much like my mother, I love dark natural woods. I think this will pair perfectly with Annalise's bedding set and I can't wait for Jason to put it together! First I think we need to clean out our existing office space..... ;)
Until next time...
P.s. My SIL posted a great blog about our party. If you'd like to check it out (with pictures) and some of her other great posts. Visit her site at http://networkedblogs.com/A69Hu
Pregnancy Health Tip of the Week(end):
Make sure you are eating your proteins (meat, chicken, fish, eggs) and getting plenty of iron (green leafy veggies). The lack of any one of these things atop with forgetting your prenatals could make you moderate to severely anemic. Since your blood volume has increased by nearly 45% you need all the red blood cells you can get...both for you (no dizzy spells) and for baby (organ/brain growth)!
Happy healthy eating!
