Wedding Wednesday + Sniffles

Ola! It's been a while.  Thought I'd update y'all on the wedding and other exciting things that have happened.  First, we had our Midwest Conference swim/dive meet this past weekend.  I got second on one meter and third on three meter, qualifying for nationals on both and finally breaking an ongoing goal of 400 points (452 1m and 415 3m to be exact).  Here are a few pictures of the fun!

It was a very emotional weekend.  Our coach of 45 years, Ray Obermiller, had his last hurrah and will retire this year.  "Obe" celebrated the women's 13th MWC win by doing a 1.5 somersaults off the 3 meter board Sunday evening.  Though we all were scared momentarily, it was a moment I will never forget.  Even at 86-ish Obe's still got it. :)  In addition, I think the tears were rolling because I'd just come to terms with the fact it was my last sports competition in my collegiate career, as well as, <100 days till graduation.  HELLO reality.

On a lighter note, my Grandma Linda bought me a new computer because my other hp said RIP a month ago.

It was a pleasant surprise when I got home from Sundays final competition and saw a note on top of the box in my living room.  Thanks so much Gram, you're the best.  Love You!

My father also came to visit and helped me obtain my Iowa state license/residency.  We went Friday morning and transferred the car title, registration, tags, license, and insurance over to my name.  In a few months I'll have to change it all again because we're getting married and I'll have the last name "O'Polka."  Dad says I'm an "Iowegian" now, whatever that means ;).  This event only further emphasized my newfound transition to "adulthood."  Though part of me is nervous, it's a good feeling to call something my own now.

Additionally, we celebrated Jason's twin siblings birthday this weekend.  They turned 15!  Hard to believe I remember meeting them over 2.5 years ago back when they seemed so little, even to me.  Funny how certain things make it seem like time is going by wayyy too fast.  I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like when I have my own kids.  Then again, I can't wait for that day to come anyway. :)

Well, here are a few wedding updates....

Save the dates have been sent, just patiently awaiting to see if anyone RSVPs now so we can get a preliminary number on guests.  Invitation "bling" has been purchased and we're trying to arrange a time to get together to fix them all up.  We've also booked the DJ for the reception and the judge for the ceremony.  Oh! and these cute shoes are for the bridesmaids to go with their latte colored dresses which will match the groomsmen!

In addition, I've created a website from the knot.com for all guests to peek at before the wedding.  Most of the information will be conveyed within the formal invitation in a month, but those planning ahead of schedule are more than welcome to take a look and copy the hotel accommodation and direction information down.

Next, I hope to book the hairdresser, taste some cake, purchase Jason's wedding band, and fine tune any little details that need it.  In the meantime, I need to take some medicine to get rid of these sniffles....

Until next time....enjoy the warmer weather! Hugs...Hannah xoxo
