Alright, alright. I'm sure my posts about our countdown are getting kind of old.
In fact, some of you might be anxious about seeing a post on Facebook or blogger saying "Headed into labor & delivery." Or thinking, YES, no more of Hannah's belly posts! Either way, its almost here and you all will just have to deal with it!
I will admit, I'm getting overly anxious myself. Especially now that I'm on maternity leave. My choice, of course. I wanted this extra week or two to have things in order and have some time for just Jason and I before things changed dramatically.
This time has been both a blessing and curse in disguise. On one hand, it has been wonderful to attempt to sleep in, and on the other, all I can think about is the waiting game until she gets here (~10 days!!).
And while many of my posts have been full of pictures, statistics, facts, and other pregnancy jargon, one thing I haven't really stepped back and appreciated is how truly great my pregnancy has gone.
Uneventful to say the least.
So. In true Thanksgiving fashion, I would like to list the things that I am thankful of as both her due date and Turkey day approaches us;
- We were one of the lucky ones who got pregnant 1-2 months into trying
- Though sick for the first 15 weeks, baby girl and I were still healthy
- We were fortunate to find baby's HB at 9 weeks, a strong 180bpm
- Though I was diagnosed with an "anterior placenta" it never turned into placenta previa
- At 14 weeks, we were able to see our baby's HB and movements on an ultrasound <3
- I first felt baby move at 18 weeks
- At our 20 week scan we were clearly able to tell what baby GIRL was
-At 22 weeks we decided on a name, no questions asked
- We surpassed the "viability" stage of 24 weeks with flying colors
- At 26 weeks we found out we did NOT have gestational diabetes
- At 28 weeks our baby girl flipped head down
-At ~29 weeks we were "showered" with love and gifts from family and friends :)
- At 30/32 weeks family and friends helped get us "nursery ready"
-At 33/34 weeks I was finally pre-pregnancy weight again
- At 36 weeks baby's head was down and engaged and we were 1cm and 50%
- At 37 weeks we received news we were Group B Strep NEGATIVE! :)
- And at 38 weeks we were not quite 2cm and 50% and got membranes stripped
Now, as we approach 39 weeks, just a week outside "term," I can only be thankful that baby girl is still thriving and healthy and that we continue to progress toward the big D-day.
We're all ready when you are baby girl!
And mommy is thankful that we've hit and surpassed milestones that some only dream about. I pray that all women who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant have it as easy as we have. It could have been a whole lot worse, but I'm thankful that it hasn't been.
God has truly blessed up with a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to meet our little Annalise. <3
Stay tuned... ;)
